"The Golden Goose Girl" Disney style

This post's sketch theme is "The Golden Goose Girl" (more commonly known as "The Goose Girl"). For those who don't know what the golden goose girl is, it's a Grimm fairy tale that happens to be one of my favorites. It's a story about a princess forced into posing as a geese caretaker while her waiting-maid takes her place as the princess. The real princess has hair of gold (Rapunzel isn't the only one famous for her hair ^_^ ).

These are my first sketches of her but I thought the chubby cheeks made her look too childish so I changed that.

I know only her hair is gold but I wanted her whole color pallete to be gold or yellow. Unlike most disney blondes the hair isn't a yellow blonde. I wanted it to look more like a bronze/gold so I added tan and brown to the hair. Also, unlike most disney blondes, her eyes aren't blue. Instead I went with a yellowish hazel. Again, unlike most disney blondes (or disney caucasians) she's a gold tan. She works outside all day so you can't tell me she won't get a tiny bit darker.

I wanted her to have some sort of feather design on her dress but then I came up with a different idea. The dresses will be posted in my next entry. Keep checking my blog!

I love your drawings! I read Goose Girl this past summer for the fist time and I fell in love with it, after I read the next book Enna Burning and again I loved it, but I still have to read the third book River of Secrets. I can't wait for the Frog Princess to come out I'm so excited, the trailer is adorable I love that little firefly! lol And I can't wait for InkHeart, read the book and LOVED it! and I'm saying love a lot it's starting to annoy me so I'm gonna shut-up now.
